2/7 vs Denver: The Tar Heels will open their season at home against the Denver Pioneers in a contests that has become one of the better early season meetings in recent years. Last season in Denver, North Carolina bested Denver 15-13 in a contest where they had to hold off a second-half Pioneer comeback.
3/11 & 4/10 vs/@ Virginia: One of the two ACC opponents that the Tar Heels will play twice this season is rival and defending (2019) Virginia. During the last full season, these two played each other twice and it was a one-goal win for the Cavaliers each time. Virginia won the regular season game 11-10 and ACC Tournament meeting 14-13. The Tar Heels haven’t beaten the Cavaliers since 2017.
4/1 & 5/2 @/vs Duke: One of the two ACC opponents that the Tar Heels will play twice this season in arch-rival Duke. The two Tobacco Road Rivalry matchups will feature what should be two of the nation’s best offenses with Michael Sowers leading Duke and Chris Gray leading North Carolina. Their last meeting was in 2019 and the Tar Heels took the win, 10-8.
