Nick Meyers and the Ohio State Buckeyes landed a commitment in the 2021 class on Thursday, as IMG Academy, Fla., midfielder Ari Allen announced that he would be taking his talents to Columbus. He has signed with the Buckeyes, per an official announcement from the team.

A Peach State native, Allen is the 12th addition to the Buckeyes’ class and second originally from the state of Georgia, alongside Walton, Ga., midfielder James Gurr. Allen is ranked as the No. 54 player in the class and rated as a four-star by Inside Lacrosse.

A dual-sport athlete, Allen had a breakout football season as a slot receiver last fall for the national football powerhouse, posting 414 receiving yards and three touchdowns, as well as rushing for one touchdown. The 247Sports Composite has Allen rated as a three-star.

On the lacrosse field, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior is a very dynamic playmaker with elite speed and quickness. He could be a very solid option at either the midfield or attack sport for the Buckeyes, given his diverse skillset that allows him to make plays from multiple spots on the field.

Allen and his IMG team are off to a 5-0 start, which includes wins over Texas powers Highland Park, Episcopal Dallas, and Westlake.
