As first reported by Ty Xanders of Inside Lacrosse, Maryland junior goalie Chris Brandau has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Brandau arrived in College Park after a freshman season at Georgetown in which he saw action in nine games and took over as the starter for the final two contest of the season against Denver in the Big East title game and Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He made a combined 29 saves with a 73% save percentage in those two contests as a starter for the Hoyas.
During the shortened 2020 season, Brandau started and appeared in the Terrapins’ first four contests before being replace by Logan McNaney for the final two games of the season. Brandau made 56 saves with a 51% save percentage and helped lead Maryland to a 3-1 record during those first four games.
With McNaney serving as the starter for the entirety of the 2021 season, Brandau only saw action in one game and made one save.
Brandau’s twin brother, Matt, is an attackman at Yale.
