Less than a month after putting his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal, former Hobart attackman Jason Knox has decided to take his talents to Columbus, Ohio and play for Nick Myers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Knox came onto the scene and asserted himself as one of the nation’s top goal-scorer during his freshman campaign in 2019, scoring 36 goals and dishing out five assists for 41 points while helping to lead the Statesmen to an NEC title game appearance. Knox had 21 points (18G/3A), which included an NEC Record 10-goal performance against Siena, during the shortened 2020 season.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Huntsville, Ont., native saw limited action during the 2021 campaign, appearing in five games with four starts. He put up 11 points off eight goals and three assists. He has a career total of 73 points off 62 goals and 11 assists through his three seasons at Hobart.

Knox joins an Ohio State squad that is coming off 4-7 season and looses all-time Buckeye great Tre Leclaire, who was second on the team in scoring with 31 points off 24 goals and seven assists in 2021 and ended his career fifth all-time in points (204) and first in goals (159).

The Buckeyes will return their leading scorer from a year ago in rising senior attackman Jack Myers (34G/11A), in addition to multiple other offensive contributors from last year’s squad.
