Delaware goalie Matt Kilkeay and attackman Mark Bieda will be returning for a fifth season with the Blue Hens, the program announced via social media on Tuesday night.
A first-year starter, Kilkeary anchored a Blue Hens defense that ended the season ranked first in the CAA and 15th in the nation while helping to lead them to a 10-3 season that ended with a CAA semifinal loss. The Lake Sherwood, Calif. native made 154 saves with a .544% save percentage. He ended the year ranked first in the conference and 18th in goals against average (9.92) while ranking first in the conference and 15th in the nation in save percentage.
Bieda was the fourth-leading scorer on a Blue Hens offense among one of the most electric in the nation. Starting 12 of 13 contest and serving as a team captain, the New Jersey native put up 27 points off 17 goals and 10 assists. With the loss of Charlie Kitchen, Bieda could see his role increase during the 2022 campaign.
