The Cleveland State Vikings are the 18th DI program and third in the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Vikings are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 3-7 overall in their final season as an independent. 2022 marks the Falcons first season in the ASUN as they move to the conference along with Air Force, Bellarmine Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Utah.

Key Games

3/11 @ & 3/13 vs St. Bonaventure: In one of the more unique scheduling scenarios you’ll see in college lacrosse, Cleveland State and St. Bonaventure will play a home-and-home series within the span of one weekend. The two have played once prior during St. Bonaventure’s inaugural season in 2019. Cleveland State won the game 18-5. It’ll be interesting how these two contests shake out with them being back-to-back in a span of three days.

4/2 @ Bellarmine: Cleveland State kicks off ASUN play on the road against the Bellarmine Knights. A familiar foe, the Vikings and Knights have faced each other five times, including twice last season. Cleveland State beat Bellarmine 8-1 in their first meeting last season before falling 11-4 to the Knights just over a month later.

4/23 @ Detroit Mercy: In the rebooted ASUN, Air Force, Robert Morris, and Utah should be the top three teams. That fourth spot in the conference tournament will likely be a fight between Cleveland State, Bellarmine, and Detroit Mercy. This contest against the Titans could be crucial if the Vikings want a shot at playing in May. The Vikings and Titans have meet three times before with Detroit Mercy holding a 2-1 series lead .
