Key Games
2/25 @ Stony Brook (at Hofstra): St. John’s will play in a four-team mini, in-season tournament between fellow Long Island-based programs Hofstra, LIU, and Stony Brook that Hofstra will play host for. St. John’s first game of the weekend will be against Stony Brook and their next game will be against either LIU or Hofstra. The tournament is a very intriguing wrinkle to the schedule and it’ll be interesting to see how things play out.
3/12 vs Siena: St. John’s has played Siena 25 times in history and come up victorious in 21 of those meetings. The Red Storm and Saints will resume their series this spring after not being able to play a year ago. Last time out in 2020, St. John’s handed Siena a 16-9 victory. With both teams coming off campaigns in which they struggled and had restrictive schedules, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
4/9 vs Marquette: The Red Storm haven’t won a Big East game since beating Georgetown 8-5 in their season finale in 2016. St. John’s did come close to breaking that conference losing streak twice last season, falling to Marquette by one goal in both of their meetings. The Golden Eagles won 9-8 in overtime the first time around and 15-14 in regulation during their second meeting.
