Key Games

2/12 @ Army West Point: With the exception of last season where this game was cancelled, the Minutemen have opened against the Black Knights every season since 2014, which was the last time that UMass secured a win in the series. In 2020, UMass was blown out, 17-4. However, Army secured an overtime victory, 12-11, in 2019. This year’s contests should be a tight one with both looking to be hyper-competitive within their respective conferences.

3/5 @ Yale: UMass and Yale didn’t play last season due to the Bulldogs not having a season. But the series these two have put together in recent years has been one for the better ones across the college lacrosse landscape for sure. UMass upset a top-ranked Yale team, 13-10, in 2020 in a game in which Matt Knote made 12 saves in what ended up being a coming out party for him on a national stage. The Minutemen lost to Yale in overtime in 2019 and by three in each of their meetings in 2018.

4/29 vs Drexel: UMass ends their regular season against the defending CAA champion Drexel Dragons, who beat the Minutemen two out of the three times these two met last season last season. The final meeting between these two in 2021 came in the CAA semifinals as the Dragons grabbed a 13-8 win. Drexel also beat UMass in the CAA semifinals in 2019.
