Key Games
2/25 vs St. John’s: Stony Brook will play in a four-team mini, in-season tournament at Hofstra between fellow Long Island-based programs Hofstra, LIU, and St. John’s. The Seawolves will play St. John’s in their first game of the weekend and the winner will play the winner of Hofstra-LIU. The tournament is a very intriguing wrinkle to the schedule and it’ll be interesting to see how things play out.
4/23 @ UMBC: Last season, the Seawolves and Retrievers faced each other twice. UMBC won each contest, taking down Stony Brook 13-12 in their first meeting and 14-13 in overtime in their second meeting. With both teams looking to be top-flight teams in the conference again this season, this matchup could very well carry some weight and would be a big win for Stony Brook.
4/30 vs Vermont: Stony Brook closes out the regular season by welcoming the defending America East champion Vermont Catamounts to town. Facing each other twice last season, Vermont won the first meeting 14-13 in a game that the Seawolves led early in the fourth quarter and won the second meeting in the conference semifinals, 10-7. This game could very well have postseason implications coming during the last weekend of the season, and could be the preview of a potential postseason matchup between these two.
