The LIU Sharks are the 55th DI team and sixth from the NEC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Sharks are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 6-5 overall (5-3 NEC) against an NEC-only schedule.

Key Games

2/12 vs Siena: LIU’s first game as a DI program back in 2020 came against the Siena Saints. Two years later, the Sharks and Saints will meet again for an early-season contest. Siena won that last contest 14-12, warding off a six-goal, late-second half run from the Sharks.

3/26 vs Merrimack: Both Merrimack and LIU moved up from DII to DI and into the NEC prior to the 2020 season, which will forever make these two programs linked in some way. Merrimack won their meeting last season, 14-10, in a game in which Christian Thomas went off for six goals. With the storylines behind these two coming into the season, this should be another exciting battle.

4/2 @ Bryant: LIU played the eventual NEC champion Bryant Bulldogs just once last season, falling 20-17 in a high-scoring game in which the Sharks pulled out to an early 9-4 lead before the Bulldogs finished strong. A win over Bryant would be huge for this program.
