Key Games
2/25 vs UMBC: After playing their first three games on the road, the Mountaineers close out February with two consecutive home games. One of those comes against fellow Old Line State foe UMBC. Last season, Mount St. Mary’s fell to the Retrievers 8-7 in a game where things were all knotted heading into the fourth quarter before UMBC scored one goal and held the Mountaineers’ scoreless in the fourth.
3/26 @ Sacred Heart: Mount St. Mary’s won two games in NEC play last season and one of those came against the Pioneers of Sacred Heart, 14-12. The Mountaineers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and had to fend off a 12-9 Pioneers run in the final three quarter of play to secure the victory. With both teams looking to have bounce back years in 2022, this one should be important for both parties involved.
4/2 @ Merrimack: Last season, the Mountaineers lost two NEC games by a single goal. One of those came against the Merrimack Warriors that was neck and neck practically the entire way. Merrimack went on a two-goal run late in the game to close things out. If Mount St. Mary’s truly wants to bounce back and move up in the NEC this spring, a win over the Warriors will certainly help.
