3/10 vs Virginia: North Carolina opens ACC play up against the two-time defending national champion Virginia Cavaliers in what will be an NCAA semifinal rematch from a year ago. The Tar Heels went 1-2 against the Cavaliers a year ago, winning the first meeting 16-13 in a game in which Colin Krieg made 20 saves before falling in their second regular season meeting and in the NCAA semifinals to the Cavaliers.
4/2 vs Duke: One of the two ACC opponents that the Tar Heels will play twice this season is arch-rival Duke. The first Tobacco Road Rivalry meeting will come at the beginning of April. Last season, the season series was split between these two as the Blue Devils won the first meeting in overtime and the Tar Heels won the second time around.
