The Lehigh Mountain Hawks are the 66th DI program and seventh from the Patriot League to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 10-2 (8-0 Patriot League) and saw their season end with a first round loss to Rutgers in the NCAA Tournament.
Mountain Hawks’ 2022 Schedule:
|3/12||Lehigh||Holy Cross||Patriot League|
|3/19||Army West Point||Lehigh||Patriot League|
|4/23||Lehigh||Boston U.||Patriot League|
Binghamton, Cornell, Georgetown, Hobart, NJIT
3/26 vs Georgetown: The Mountain Hawks will face the Hoyas in a marquee late-March non-conference contest that will pit the reigning Patriot League and Big East champions against each other. Depending on how conference play goes for the Mountain Hawks, this could be a big game with NCAA Tournament implications.
4/2 @ Lafayette: Rivals, these two met twice last season. Lehigh took the first game 18-11 and the second game, which came two days later, 14-11. In their second meeting, Lafayette cut it to a one-goal game late in the fourth before Lehigh put in two straight to finish things out. Lafayette hasn’t beaten Lehigh since 2009 and has only won three games in the series since 1993.
4/30 vs Lehigh: The Lehigh Mountain Hawks are 1-15 against the Loyola Greyhounds all-time. That sole win came last season as the Mountain Hawks went into Ridley Athletic Complex and beat the Greyhounds 10-6. The two were supposed to play a second time in the Patriot League title game, but a positive case of coronavirus inside the Loyola program cancelled the game. Playing the last weekend of the regular season, the contest between these two could very consequential for both sids and could be a preview of the Patriot League title game.
