Penn faceoff man Jamize Zusi will be heading to Durham to join the Duke Blue Devils as a grad transfer in 2023. He confirmed the news to Lacrosse Bucket on Wednesday morning.
Taking over as the starter this past spring, Zusi went An All-Ivy Honorable mention this past spring, he went 183-for-336 (54%) at the dot while also grabbing 92 ground balls. The Chester, N.J., native was named an All-Ivy Honorable Mention.
Zusi was especially good in the postseason, going 17-for-25 (68%) in the Quakers first round win over Richmond before going 65% (13-for-20) in their one-goal loss against Rutgers in the second round.
At Duke, Zusi joins a program that is coming off a season in which they went 11-6 and missed the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils will return their top faceoff man in Jake Naso. He went 56% last season as a sophomore and has been their primary option since his freshman season.
