Plant (Fla.) faceoff man Rogan Kane announced his commitment to the Air Force Falcons on Thursday. He is commit No. 18 of the cycle for Bill Wilson and his staff and the third player in the class from the state of Florida.
“The culture, the coaches, the honor that comes with attending the Air Force Academy,” Rogan stated as the reasons he told Lacrosse Bucket he chose the Falcons. “This is not just a four-year decision, it is a 40-year decision.”
The faceoff man got out to Colorado Springs for a visit back in December, saying “It is an incredible campus with stellar facilities and endless academic options.”
Kane is the third player from the Sunshine State in the Falcons’ 2023 class, joining his high school teammate Turner Ashby as well as St. Andrew’s (Fla.) atatckman Jack Schulte.
“This is an awesome opportunity to experience the next decade with one of my best friends and current teammates,” Rogan told Lacrosse Bucket.
Kane is coming off a strong junior campaign in which he helped lead the Panthers to an impressive 18-3 record and an appearance in the FHSAA state semifinals, where they fell to eventual 2A champion St. Thomas Aquinas.
He went 272-for-350 (77%) at the faceoff dot and grabbed 159 ground balls this past spring.
Heading into his senior season, Kane said that is only goal is to help lead Plant to a Florida state championship.
