Former Binghamton attackman Kevin Winkoff will be heading to Happy Valley, Pa., to play for Jeff Tambroni and the Penn State Nittany Lions as a grad transfer in 2023. He announced his decision via Instagram on Thursday morning.
A Long Island native, Winkoff was a full-time starter each of the past three seasons with the Bearcats and the team’s leading point-getter two of those years. He is coming off a senior campaign in 2022 in which he put up 37 goals and 18 assists for 55 points on the year as the team’s leading scorer. He ended his career at Binghamton with a grand total of 108 points (70 goals, 38 assists).
At Penn State, Winkoff joins a program that is coming off a 3-11 season and features a youthful roster. He is one of five transfers the Nittany Lions have gotten this summer, joining faceoffmen Chase Mullins (North Carolina) and Richie Hughson (Providence) as well as attackman Chris Jordan (St. Lawrence). The latter two also being grad transfers.
