The hot recruiting weekend continued for Lars Tiffany and the Virginia Cavaliers on Monday as 2023 McDonogh (Md.) attackman McCabe Million announced he had switched his commitment from the Duke Blue Devils to the Cavaliers.
Ranked as the No. 1 player in the 2023 class by Inside Lacrosse, Million is coming off a junior season this past spring in which he put up 50 goals and 28 assists while helping the Eagles to an MIAA title.
Million’s commitment to the Wahoos on Monday afternoon added to what was already a very impactful weekend on the recruiting trail for Lars Tiffany’s program. On Sunday, the Cavaliers gained its first commitment in the 2024 class with St. John’s (D.C.) attackman Ryan Duenkel verbaling to the Cavaliers. He is ranked as the No. 1 player in the class, per IL. Also on Sunday, ’23 attackman Chase Band (Bullis, Md.) committed to the Cavaliers. He was previously an Ohio State verbal.
Now the headliner of the Cavaliers’ 2023 class, Million is the third player to flip into class along with Band and Rye (N.Y.) midfielder Kian McCarthy, who had been committed to Penn State.
