Nick Myers and the Ohio State Buckeyes have their 2024 class off the ground with the commitment of St. Xavier (Ky.) attackman Trevor Havill. His commitment comes following a visit to Columbus last weekend.

What Ohio State is Getting:

The 6-foot-5, 190-pounder has a solid frame and couples that with very good footwork and a decent amount of speed. Havill is a quarterback in football and many of those traits show through on the lacrosse field as well with his head constantly up and him seemingly always being in a position to make a quick move or decision. A righty, the attackman practically lives 10 yards above GLE on the left wing where he has proven to be a consistent shooter and initiator. From that spot he has been known to rip it past the goalie or create further scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates. Havill is also strong when initiating and running the offense from behind the cage at X. He had a monster spring, putting up a whopping 122 points while helping lead the Tigers to their 15th Kentucky state championship.

What it Means For Ohio State:

I had Havill pegged as one of the best players in the South of the ’24 cycle. The Buckeyes grabbing arguably the best player to ever come out of the Bluegrass State is a big way to gets its ’24 class off and running.
