The St. Bonaventure Bonnies are the second DI program to release its 2023 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Bonnies are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 11-4 (5-1 MAAC) and made it to the MAAC title game. The Bonnies will be joining the A-10, its home conference this spring, as the league begins to sponsor men’s lacrosse. They join the league along with fellow full A-10 members Richmond, Saint Joseph’s, and UMass, as well as High Point and Hobart.
St. Bonaventure’s 2023 schedule will feature 14 games with five of them coming at home and nine on the road. The Bonnies’ A-10 debut will come on April 1st at Hobart.

2/18 vs Binghamton: The home opener to St. Bonaventure’s fifth season will be against the Binghamton Bearcats. These two western New York foes were supposed to meet for the first time last spring, but inclement weather forced the game to be cancelled. It’ll be interesting to see how these two programs, who each lose significant pieces from last season, fare in this early season meeting.
3/14 @ Canisius: The Randy Mearns Bowl? The Bonnies head coach spent 19 seasons in the same job at Canisius before staring the program at St. Bonaventure. The Bonnies and Griffins have faced each other four times since the Bonnies’ inaugural season in 2019 with the series split, 2-2. The average margin in the four contests between the two is three, which includes a 13-12 Bonnies win last season. Is another close battle in the future?
4/1 @ Hobart: St. Bonaventure opens A-10 play on the road against the Hobart Statesmen. These two have not played since the Bonnies’ inaugural season in 2019. Hobart won that meeting 18-8. This should be a good game to see where each of these New York foes are at as league play play begin.
4/22 vs High Point: St. Bonaventure and High Point played each other in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. High Point won the first meeting 13-0 and the second a year later 13-8. Now conference foes, this game is very likely to have postseason implication – and especially so if both the Bonnies and Panthers are in that “second tier” of what should be a very strong A-10 league.
