Key Games
2/4 vs Johns Hopkins: The Dolphins open the season at home against the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays in what will be the second consecutive season-opener between these two teams. Last year, the Blue Jays bested the Dolphins 11-8 at Homewood in a contest that saw the Hopkins defense hold Jacksonville to three goals in the second half. This should be another exciting one between these two.
2/10 vs Duke: One of the biggest upsets of the 2022 season was Jacksonville heading to Durham and knocking off Duke 14-12 on a Sunday afternoon. Jacksonville led 10-5 late in the third and held off a late-game effort by the Blue Devils. This year, Jacksonville gets the Blue Devils on their own own turf down in the Sunshine State.
3/18 @ Robert Morris: The second true road game for Jacksonville in 2023 will be its conference opener visiting the defending ASUN champion Robert Morris. These two programs have played seven times in history with the Colonials leading the series 5-2. Their last meeting was in 2021, which Robert Morris won 16-15. This meeting between these two will be a crucial ASUN matchup and could also see a lot of offense with the talent both squads have.
4/1 @ Utah: Jacksonville begins the month of April with what could likely be its most important game of the season as they travel west to face the Utah Utes. Now conference foes, these two are expected to be at the top of the ASUN this season. In addition, the Dolphins and Utes have history as the two have met each of the past three seasons. That included a 16-10 Utah win at Jacksonville last season that the Dolphins will badly want to avenge. Expect this to be the potential ASUN game of the year and where the No. 1 seed in the tournament could very well be determined.
