The Utah Utes are the fourth DI program to release its 2023 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Utes are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 10-4 (5-0 ASUN) and saw its season end in the ASUN title game.
Utah’s 2023 schedule will feature 15 games with eight of them coming at home and six on the road. They will also have a neutral site contest in Charlotte, N.C. The Dolphins’ ASUN debut will come on March 18th at Robert Morris.
Utes’ 2023 Schedule
Johns Hopkins, Lindenwood, Queens, Rutgers,
2/4 @ Denver: For the third consecutive season, the Utah Utes will open the season against fellow western foe Denver. Having played three times since Utah’s inaugural season, the Utes have fallen each time to the Pioneers. That includes two one-goal losses over the past two seasons as the Pioneers edged the Utes 14-13 in 2022 and 9-8 in 2021. Utah will be looking to get that program building first win over the Pioneers this spring.
2/18 vs Vermont: The westernmost and northermost DI programs have met three times since 2019. That included the Utes’ first-ever trip to Burlington last season where they topped the then-No. 17 Catamounts, 11-10. Expect he battle at the faceoff dot between Utah’s Cole Brams and Vermont’s Tommy Burke to be a major talking point heading into this battle.
4/1 vs Jacksonville: Arguably the most anticipated in the ASUN will take place in Salt Lake City as the Utah Utes welcome in the Jacksonville Dolphins. These two have a history with meetings each of the last three seasons. That included a contest in the Sunshine State last season in which Utah won 16-10. Now conference foes, this game could very well be the battle for the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
4/8 @ Robert Morris: Andrew McMinn faced his old team twice last season. The Utes took that first contest 18-8 in blowout fashion. However, three weeks later, the Colonials took down the Utes 18-17 in a high scoring ASUN title game. Utah will badly want to avenge that championship game loss from last season.
