The Manhattan Jaspers are the 15th DI program to release its 2023 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Jaspers are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 8-7 overall and 4-2 in MAAC play. The Jaspers won the MAAC title and made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002.
Manhattan’s 2023 schedule will feature 14 games with seven of them coming at home and seven coming on the road. The Jaspers open the season on February 11th at home against St. John’s. League play opens on March 11th at Mount St. Mary’s for Manhattan.
Jaspers’ 2023 Schedule
|3/11||Mount St. Mary’s||Manhattan||MAAC|
Bryant, LIU, Mount St. Mary’s, NJIT, Princeton
Duke, Hofstra, Monmouth, Sacred Heart, St. Bonaventure, Stony Brook
2/11 vs St. John’s: Manhattan opens up the season against New York foe St. John’s in a game that will pit two new head coaches against each other as John Odierna took over at Manhattan this summer while Justin Turri took over at St. John’s. Last spring, St. John’s knocked off Manhattan 9-7 one of the Red Storm’s lone two wins.
2/18 @ Navy: The Jaspers’ first road game of the season will come on February 18th as they head to Annapolis to take on the Navy Midshipmen. The Midshipmen and Jaspers have played twice over the past three years with each being defensive battles. Navy won the 2020 game 9-4 and the 2022 meeting 9-6. This will be a big early-season test for the Jaspers and a matchup that could yield another close, defensive battle.
4/1 vs Marist: The Jaspers open up the moth up April on the road at home with a MAAC semifinal rematch against Marist. The Jaspers and Red Foxes faced each other twice last season with the Red Foxes taking the regular season meeting 13-12 before the Jaspers won 13-12 in the conference semifinals meeting between the two. The win marked the first win over the Red Foes for Manhattan since 2016. This could be another battle between two MAAC title contenders.
4/15 vs Siena: Manhattan will welcome the Siena Saints to town in a late season MAAC competition that could very well help decide the postseason. Each of the past two meetings between the Jaspers and Saints have led to a one-goal win for Manhattan. That includes an 8-7 win last spring. Manhattan beat Siena 13-12 in double overtime in 2021.
