Key Games

2/11 vs Army West Point: Except for 2021, the Minutemen and Black Knights have played each other early in the season every single year since 2014. UMass has not gotten a win in the series since that 2014 contest. Last spring, however, the Minutemen nearly broke that streak as they fell 14-13 against Army on the road. Another close one could be expected this year as well.

3/4 vs Yale: Since the modern series between these two began in 2017, UMass-Yale has produced some really good games. The Minutemen have won two of those meetings (2017, 2020) since 2017 and have lost three of those contests by three or less goals. That includes overtime losses in 2019 and last season, where they fell 13-12. Another classic between these two could be had in 2023.

4/1 vs High Point: UMass opens up A-10 play at home against the High Point Panthers. It will be the first time these two programs have ever played each other. With how competitive the A-10 is expected to be and spot the Minutemen and Panthers will likely occupy this spring, this contest will be very crucial for both sides as far as postseason implications go.

4/22 @ Saint Joseph’s: The final road game of the season for UMass will come against the Saint Joseph’s Hawks, who are the likely favorites in the A-10. This game will be the biggest test for the Minutemen in league play this spring. The battle at the faceoff dot between the Hawks’ Zach Cole and UMass’ Caleb Hammett will be a crucial piece of the contest. The two programs have played three times in history from 2011-2013.
