Key Games

2/18 @ Lehigh: The first road game of the season for the Statesmen will be at Lehigh on February 18th in a contest that will likely the first major test for this squad. Last spring, defeated Lehigh at home in a one-goal, 14-13 victory. This game will help truly see what this Statesmen team looks like and it true possible potential in 2023.

2/28 vs Cornell: Another big early-season test for Hobart is its annual rivalry game against the Cornell Big Red. In last year’s meeting, the Statesmen fell 15-12 in a contest that saw John Herlihy put up a season-high five points (4G/1A). Expect both teams to get up for this one as usual.

4/15 @ Saint Joseph’s: Former NEC foes, the Statesmen and Hawks have both moved to the A-10 together. The contest between these two in mid-April will likely be the toughest test in league play for Hobart with the Hawks being the early favorite. Hobart will be looking for their first win over Saint Joseph’s since 2018. The Hawks beat Hobart 16-12 in the regular season and 14-7 in the NEC championship game last spring.

4/22 vs Richmond: Another big A-10 test for the Statesmen will come during the second to last week of the regular season when they welcome the Richmond Spiders to Geneva. It will be the first meeting between the two. A win over the Spiders would be huge and certainly have postseason implications for both squads in what is expected to be an uber competitive league.
