Key Games
2/14 @ Ohio State: The biggest early-season test for the Tar Heels, perhaps, comes on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Last season, Ohio State came to Chapel Hill and throttled North Carolina in a 20-8 victory. The Tar Heels will be looking to flip the script this year. And if so, it would be a sign of serious improvement and whats to come.
2/26 @ Syracuse: North Carolina opens ACC play on February 26th at Syracuse. It will be the first of two meetings between the Tar Heels and the Orange this season. North Carolina beat Syracuse 14-13 last season as its lone ACC win. This game pits two ACCs looking to turn things around, and heavily impacted by the transfer portal, against each other.
4/7 vs Virgnia: North Carolina opens the month of April at home against rival Virginia. It will be the lone meeting between the two after having played twice in each of the past two season. The Tar Heels lost 15-11 and 11-4 to the Cavaliers last spring. Securing a win over the Cavaliers would be huge for Joe Breschi’s squad as they try to bounce back from last season.
