Lacrosse Bucket Team, Players of The Week From Week Eight

Another week of college lacrosse action has passed and as always there were players who stood out amongst the rest.

So without further ado, here is the Lacrosse Bucket Team of The Week as well as Players of The Week following the action from week eight.

Team of The Week

Attack: Brennan O’Neill, Duke

O’Neill led Duke with nine points off six goals and three assists as the Blue Devils knocked off Virginia 16-14 on Friday night.

Attack: Josh Zawada, Michigan

Zawada put up three goals and four assists to help lead Michigan to a historic 16-11 win over Maryland.

Attack: Troy Barthelme, Hobart

Barthelme had big day in Hobart’s win over St. Bonaventure, tallying six points off five goals and one assist.

Midfield: Matt Campbell, Villanova

Campbell tallied eight points off three goals and five assists to help lead Villanova past St. John’s in its Big East opener.

Midfield: Eric Dobson, Notre Dame

Notre Dame beat Syracuse 20-12 on Saturday. Dobson was a big part of the effort, tallying three goals and two assists for five points.

Midfield: Ryan Bell, Providence

Bell dished out five assists, being a primary feeder for the Friars’ offense in their big 16-14 win over Providence.

Faceoff: 

SSDM: Grant Haus, Penn State

Haus caused three turnovers, grabbed two ground balls, and scored a goal in Penn State’s big win over Ohio State.

LSM: Colby Plotts, Utah

Plotts scored a goal, grabbed a ground ball, and caused two turnovers versus Air Force and later would grab four ground balls and caused two turnovers against Jacksonville.

Defense: Will Bowen, Georgetown

Bowen led the way on the back end in the Hoyas’ 13-6 win over Denver, causing five turnovers and grabbing three ground balls

Defense: Kenny Brower, Duke

Brower held Connor Shellenberger to just one assist when on the field and without a goal in Duke’s win over the Cavaliers.

Defense: Kevin Parnham, Penn State

Playing in just his third game of the season, Parnham grabbed four ground balls and caused one turnover to help lead the Nittany Lions’ defense versus Ohio State.

Goalie: Collin Kelley, Mercer

Kelley had a big week as he helped the Bears to two big wins over Bellarmine and Robert Morris. He had 12 saves versus the Knights and 12 against the Colonials.

Players of The Week

Freshman: Ryan Stines, Attack, Utah

Stines had a career day on Friday night, tallying six points off five goals and one assist.

Transfer: Stephen Dwyer, Midfield, Saint Joseph’s

Dwyer had three goals and one assist for Saint Joseph’s big, 14-12, conference win over Richmond.
