Lacrosse Bucket Team, Players of The Week From Week Nine

Another week of college lacrosse action has passed and as always there were players who stood out amongst the rest.

So without further ado, here is the Lacrosse Bucket Team of The Week as well as Players of The Week following the action from week nine

Team of The Week

Attack: Joey Spallina, Syracuse

Spallina record a career-high nine points off four goals and five assists to help the Orange past Princeton 16-13.

Attack: Pat Kavanagh, Notre Dame

Kavanagh helped lead the way in the Irish’s big win over Duke as he netted three goals and dished out five assists for eight points.

Attack: TJ Malone, Penn State

Malone scored four goals and dished out three assists to notch seven points in Penn State’s 12-11 overtime win over Johns Hopkins.

Midfield: Koa Todd, Utah

Todd had a career day as he scored five goals and dished out two assists for seven points.

Midfield: Griffin King, Brown

King had three goals and two assists for five points to help lead Brown past Penn 12-11 in a big Ivy League win.

Midfield: Jaxon Lamb, High Point

Lamb scored four goals to help lead the way in High Point’s 14-13 win over Hobart.

Faceoff: Mike Sisselberger, Lehigh

Sisselberger went 20-for-21 (95%) and also scored a goal to help the Mountain Hawks defeat Bucknell 11-8.

SSDM: Chase Yager, Harvard

Yager played a big part in Harvard’s 10-8 win over Cornell as he scored a goal, grabbed three ground balls, and caused two turnovers.

LSM: Saam Olexo, Syracuse

Olexo scored the first goal of the game just 15 seconds in and by game’s end had also recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Defense: Jack DiBenedetto, Denver

DiBendetto grabbed three caused turnover and helped hold Matt Campbell to just one assist as Denver topped Villanova 12-6.

Defense: Chris Fake, Notre Dame

Fake headlined what was a strong defensive performance for the Irish as he held Brennan O’Neill to just one goal in Notre Dame’s 17-12 victory over Duke. Fake also grabbed three ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Defense: Jake Saunders, Richmond

Saunders had a monster day in Richmond’s 13-12 win over UMass, grabbing five ground balls and causing six turnovers.

Goalie: Pat Ryan, Navy

Ryan anchored the Midshipmen in their big 11-10 win over Loyola with 23 saves.

Players of The Week

Offense: Joey Spallina, Attack, Syracuse

Defense: Chris Fake, Defense, Notre Dame

Freshman: Joey Spallina, Attack, Syracuse

Transfer: Thomas McConvey, Midfield, Virginia

McConvey put up four points off two goals and two assists to help the Cavaliers past North Carolina in blowout fashion.
