With the end of the college lacrosse season comes the offseason and in this era transfer portal movement.
Multiple teams on Tuesday made additions via graduate transfers.
Per Inside Lacrosse, Princeton’s Jake Stevens, Sam English, Christian Ronda, Cathal Roberts, and Jacob Stobner all have made their decisions as to where they will play their final season of college lacrosse in 2024.
Midfielders Jake Stevens and Sam English will indeed be suiting up for Gary Gait and the Syracuse Orange next season – a move that was widely rumored throughout the spring. English missed the final six contests of the season due to injury. He had seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points through the Tigers’ first nine games. He tallied 48 points off 30 goals and 18 assists as Princeton’s third-leading scorer in 2022. Stevens is a true swiss army knife. He ended the year with 24 goals and five assists (39 points) as the team’s fourth-leading scorer and was second on the team in ground balls with 35.
A/M Christian Ronda and LSM Cathal Roberts are both headed to Ann Arbor to play for Kevin Conry and Michigan, which just completed its best season in program history. Ronda put up 32 points off 21 goals and 11 assists this past season for Princeton. Roberts led the Tigers with 17 caused turnovers and also grabbed 26 ground balls.
Ohio State and Jacksonville Add Talent
Both Ohio State and Jacksonville added grad transfers on Tuesday.
Wagner’s Eli Fisher announcing that he will be heading to Columbus for his final season of college lacrosse. An SSDM who can be a serious two-way threat, Fisher was a first-team All-MAAC selection this past spring. He scored three goals, dished out two assists, grabbed 26 ground balls, and caused 12 turnovers.
Transylvania (DIII) midfielder Dalton Hubbs will be spending his final year of eligibility in the Sunshine State playing for John Galloway and the Jacksonville Dolphins. Hubbs led the Pioneers with 56 goals and seven assists for 63 points this past spring. He helped lead the Pioneers to a CCIW title game appearance in 2023 and ends his time in Lexington as one of the program’s leaders in career scoring.
