Former Wagner goalie Danny Brady will be heading to Columbus, Ohio, to play for Nick Myers and the Ohio State Buckeyes as a grad transfer in 2024. He announced his decision via Instagram on Thursday afternoon.

A four-year starter for the Seahawks, Brady made 199 saves with a 54.8% save percentage this past spring. Brady ranked 10th nationally in save percentage in DI in 2023. He ranked fifth nationally in saves per game (14.21).

Brady ends his career on Staten Island with a career total of 572 saves with a 54.1% save percentage.

In Columbus, he joins a Buckeyes squad that is coming off a season in which they went 5-9 overall and 1-4 in Big Ten play. Skylar Wahlund started the final nine games of 2022 and was the Buckeyes’ starter in 2023 as a grad student. He has exhausted his eligibility. Caton Johnson, who started his career at North Carolina, was the Buckeyes’ main backup this season and has graduated. Freshman Oran Gelinas, who played in one game in 2023, entered the Transfer Portal when the window opened up in early May.

Sophomore Henry Blake was the fourth goalie on Ohio State’s roster this spring. Ohio State brings in highly-touted recruit Caleb Fyock (St. John’s, D.C.) at the position in the 2023 recruiting class.

Brady is the second former Wagner star to announce he will be heading to Ohio State next season. All-MAAC SSDM Eli Fisher announced on Tuesday that he would be playing his fifth and final season of college lacrosse in Columbus.
