2022 ASUN Preview

After a one-year stint in 2014, the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) has re-entered the men’s college lacrosse ether. Air Force and Bellarmine jumped over from the SoCon while Detroit Mercy came over from the MAAC. Cleveland State, Robert Morris, and Utah all come to the conference after spending various amounts of time as independents.

2022 Schedule Preview: Utah Utes

The Utah Utes are the 57th DI program and sixth from the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Utes are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 4-7 overall as an independent. This spring will mark the Utes’ first under head coach Andrew McMinn and in the ASUN conference.

2022 Schedule Preview: Robert Morris Colonials

The Robert Morris Colonials are the 36th DI team and fifth from the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Colonials are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 7-6 overall as an independent. 2022 will mark their first season as a member of the ASUN.

2022 Schedule Preview: Detroit Mercy

The Detroit Mercy Titans are the 28th DI program and fourth in the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Titans are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 3-4 overall (3-2 MAAC) against a MAAC-only schedule and fell to St. Bonaventure in the conference quarterfinals. 2022 will mark the Titans’ first season in the newly relaunched ASUN.

2022 Schedule Preview: Cleveland State Vikings

The Cleveland State Vikings are the 18th DI program and third in the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Vikings are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 3-7 overall in their final season as an independent. 2022 marks the Falcons first season in the ASUN as they move to the conference along with Air Force, Bellarmine Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Utah.

2022 Schedule Preview: Air Force Falcons

The Air Force Falcons are the 15th DI program and second in the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Falcons are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 4-9 (3-3 SoCon) and saw their season end with an 11-6 loss against Richmond in the SoCon semifinals. 2022 marks the Falcons first season in the ASUN as they move to the conference along with Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Utah.

2022 Schedule Preview: Bellarmine Knights

The Bellarmine Knights are the ninth DI program and first in the ASUN to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule, doing so on Monday afternoon. The Knights are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 5-10 (2-4 SoCon). 2022 will be the Knights’ first season in the ASUN a they move to the conference alongside Air Force, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Utah.

Air Force Should Be Amongst The Cream of The Crop From The Get-Go in The ASUN

Heading into the final week of the regular season, Air Force was in a battle with Bellarmine and Mercer for that fourth and final spot in the SoCon tournament. Traveling 1,644.7 miles to Virginia’s capital city to face the Richmond Spiders, who had already clinched the top seed in the conference tournament, the Falcons pulled off their biggest win of the season, taking down the Spiders 11-6 to hand them their first conference loss of the season.
