The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are the 73rd DI program and fifth from the ACC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Irish are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 8-4 overall (3-3 ACC) and ended their season in the NCAA Quarterfinals against Maryland.

2022 Schedule Preview: North Carolina Tar Heels

The North Carolina are the 62nd DI program and third from the ACC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Tar Heels are coming off a 2021 season in which they went 13-3 (4-2) and ended their season with a loss to Virginia in the NCAA semifinals.

2022 Schedule Preview: Virginia Cavaliers

The Virginia Cavaliers are the 61st DI program and second from the ACC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Cavaliers are coming off a 2021 season in which they went 14-4 (2-4 ACC) and won the national title for a second consecutive time.

2022 ACC Preview

The ACC had a hallmark year in 2021 as three of the four Championship Weekend teams hailed from the conference and the conference housed the national champion. With the Ivy League returning and the Big Ten reverting back to a normal schedule, it’s unlikely that the ACC will have such as season as they did a year ago. But you can still bet on the conference to be represented on Championship Weekend and possibly produce the national champion for the third consecutive time.

The Gary Gait Era Begins at Syracuse

“Unfinished Business.” That was the sentiment echoed around the Syracuse locker room, and especially so amongst the Orange’s fifth-year returnees, coming into last season following a strong 5-0 start before the season was shut down in 2020. However, the season took a wildly different turn and at times it looked like, instead of having unfinished business to attend to, the Orange had no business to complete on the field at all.

The Syracuse Orange are the 56th DI team and first from the ACC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Orange are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 7-6 overall (2-4 ACC). This season will mark the Orange’s first season with Gary Gait at the helm.

After Narrowly Missing Out Last Season, Can Notre Dame Get Back to Championship Weekend in 2022?

During Kevin Corrigan’s 32-years at the helm of Notre Dame lacrosse, the Fighting Irish have done nothing but rise and continue to stay amongst the top programs in college lacrosse. That success has included five Championship Weekend trips and two national title game appearances (2010, 2014).

Can Virginia Three-Peat as National Champions?

The Virginia Cavaliers ended the 2021 season just as they did the last full season (2019) prior, as national champions. This time around, the Cavaliers took down the Maryland Terrapins to become the first program since Duke (2013,2014) to win consecutive national titles and claim their seventh in program history.

Boasting a Championship-Caliber Roster Once Again, Can Duke Reach The Top?

Since John Danowski arrived in Durham ahead of the 2007 season, the Blue Devils have done nothing but win. Duke has made 13 consecutive NCAA Tournaments during the Danowski era, which includes 12 trips to Championship Weekend and three national titles.
