NCAA First Round: Duke Survives Delaware Upset Bid

The Delaware Blue Hens had one of the more memorable tournament wins in recent history last season when they upset No. 2 seed Georgetown 10-9. And with nearly that entire roster back, Delaware aimed to pull off an even bigger upset on Sunday evening when the Blue Hens took the field against No.1 Duke.

Midweek Notebook: Virginia Keeps The Doyle Smith Cup, Dartmouth Starts 4-0, Penn Wins OT Thriller vs St. Joe’s

The Doyle Smith Cup will be staying in Charlottesville for another year as the Virginia Cavaliers defeated the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays 18-13 at Homewood on Tuesday afternoon. It marks the third consecutive victory for the Cavaliers over the Blue Jays.

2023 Schedule Breakdown: Delaware Blue Hens

The Delaware Blue Hens are the 65th DI program in the 2023 schedule breakdown series. The Hens are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 13-6 overall and 3-1 in CAA play. Delaware’s season ended with a loss in the NCAA Quarterfinals against Cornell.

NCAA Quarterfinals: Cornell Outlast Delaware to Advance to Championship Weekend For The First Time Since 2013

In 2013, Ben Deluca led the Cornell Big Red to Championship Weekend with a big three of Rob Pannell, Steve Mock, and Connor Buczek. Nine years later, Cornell is headed back to the final four after a Buczek coached Big Red squad defeated a DeLuca coached Delaware team 10-8 in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday afternoon.

NCAA First Round: Kilkeary’s 14 Saves, Ward’s Game-Winner Lead Delaware Past Georgetown in Upset

On this first round weekend, the best was saved for last. The Delaware Blue Hens, after beating Robert Morris in their play-in game on Wednesday, went into Washington, D.C. and pulled off the upset of the tournament, beating the second-seededGeorgetown Hoyas 10-9.
