Since the dead period was lifted on June 1st, no team has made more headway on the recruiting trail than the Penn State Nittany Lions. Jeff Tambroni’s program has built half of their 2022 class in just the past month with four commitments – including three flips – since late June.

Kevin Cassese and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks have landed their 10th commitment in the 2022 cycle.
Calvert Hall (Md.) attackman/midfielder EJ Vasile flipped his commitment from Bellarmine to the Mountain Hawks on Tuesday evening. He committed to the Knights in January.

On Saturday night at Boy’s Latin in Baltimore, Md., the Americans beat the Nationals 17-15 in the inaugural Nike National Senior All-Star game. Virginia signee Griffin Schutz (Deerfield, Mass.) was named the MVP following a six-goal performance.

Lars Tiffany and the the two-time defending champion Virginia Cavaliers have added to an already strong 2022 recruiting class, snagging one of the top in-state offensive weapons in the class.
St. Anne’s Belfield (Va.) midfield Tim Myers flipped his commitment from Navy to Virginia on Monday night. This news comes after Myers visited with Virginia head coach Lars Tiffany last week.

From the final day of June through the first few days of July, the recruiting trails has been as hot as it has been in quite sometime. Service academies were able to contact rising juniors on July 1st, Penn State has pulled off a pair of flips in the 2022 class.

In March of 2020, the NCAA instituted a recruiting dead period across all sports at the DI level that remained in place until the first of June in 2021. That’s a whole 15 months, which included the first nine months of the 2022 cycle, in which recruits couldn’t have any in-person contact with college coaches or take official visits.

The Kentucky High School lacrosse season came to a close last week with St. Xavier capturing the Kentucky Scholastic Lacrosse League (KSLL) title and Henry Clay winning the Commonwealth Lacrosse League (CLL), and one of the main themes constantly brought up in circles across the state this spring was the amount of young talent, and the dispersal of said talent.

On Friday the second annual GEICO High School Lacrosse Showcase went down at Malvern Prep with Brunswick (Conn.) facing Haveford (Pa.) in the first game and the host Malvern Prep (Pa.) playing Lawrenceville (N.J.) in the second contest.
Brunswick overcame a nearly 23 minute drought to beat Haveford 9-8 and Malvern blasted Lawrenceville 16-3.
With over a dozen DI recruits participating between the two games, here is a look at some players who stood out the most on Friday.
