Recruiting Notebook: Notre Dame, Penn State Land First 2023 Commits

Since the contact period opened up for Juniors on September 1st, there have been 15 players commit to DI programs. Dartmouth has landed the most commitments since the opening of the contact period, landing 15 verbals from 2023s thus far.

Aiden Bodoyni Commits to Ohio State

Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) defenseman/LSM Aiden Bodonyi is staying in his home state to play for Nick Myers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The junior announced his decision on Instagram on Wednesday morning, becoming the first commitment in the 2023 class following the contact period opening up at Midnight.

Southern Big Board: 2023s to Watch as September 1st Approaches

In just three days, the flood gates will open for the 2023 class as the contact period for college coaches to contact juniors begins at midnight on September 1st.

After focusing on watching and analyzing as much of the 2023s below the Mason-Dixon line as possible via film and in-person when possible, here is a look at my big board, or players to watch as far as Southern 2023s go once the contact period opens.

Southern Scorecard: Breaking Down the Most Recent Southern Commitments

After a slow-ish June on the recruiting trail across the region, things heated up in July. The Lacrosse Bucket Recruiting Database recorded nine commits in the 2022 class from across the region during the month of July as well as one in the 2023 class.
