Midweek Recap: Defense Helps Marist Past Siena, Mount St. Mary’s Extends Win Streak

A Siena shot from the stick of George Rusnak hit the post with 12:21 left in the game. Marist’s Ryan McDaniel grabbed the rock on the long rebound and pushed it upfield to Tyler Ammirato, who fed Jake Deacy for the transition goal to make it an 11-9 game in favor of the Red Foxes.

Siena Looking to Take “Next Step”

Siena watched two of its shots get blocked and two get saved in the final 1:25 of the MAAC semifinals against the No. 1 seed St. Bonaventure in what would be a 12-10, season-ending loss for the Saints. But while the Saints’ 2022 season ended in a loss, the year was far from one itself.
