America East Semifinals: UMBC, Vermont Advance to Title Game

On Thursday night the UMBC Retrievers put together their best defensive performance of the season in what was a defensive battle as they defeated Binghamton 7-6 to advance to the America East semifinals.

Sunday Recap: Ohio Defeats Michigan in Big Ten Regular Season Finale

In a matchup that will be played out once more in the Big Ten Quarterfinals next week, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Michigan Wolverines 14-12. The Buckeyes victory ensured the Wolverines ending the regular season on a seven-game losing streak, which is the exact opposite of how they opened the season (seven straight wins).

The win also marks the Buckeyes first time capturing the Creators Trophy since 2015. Ohio State, along with Michigan and Penn State fight for the trophy each season.

Tuesday Recap: Dartmouth’s Defense Stifles Vermont For Third Consecutive Win

Daniel Hincks grabbed an off-the-mark bouncer from Brock Haley with 28 seconds remaining to earn his 20th save of the day and end any further Vermont effort in the final moments, effectively securing the 8-7 Dartmouth victory. The win marks the third consecutive for Brendan Callahan’s program.

2022 Schedule Preview: UAlbany Great Danes

The UAlbany Great Danes are the 26th DI program and fourth from the America East to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Great Danes are coming off a campaign in 2021 in which they went 8-5 overall (5-3 America East) against an America East-heavy schedule. Their season came to an end in the America East title game, falling 15-10 to Vermont.

UAlbany Can Reclaim The America East

In 2018, Scott Marr and the UAlbany Great Danes reached the highest high in program history: advancing to Championship Weekend. That magical season was the product of what had gone in since the beginning of the Thompson era in 2013, and up to that point, which allowed the Danes to flourish as college lacrosse’s best and most consistent mid-major program.
