According to a report from Spectrum News CNY, Cornell is set to hire current assistant coach Connor Buczek as their men’s lacrosse coach for the 2021 season and keep assistant Jordan Stevens on staff.

The report states that Cornell will conduct a national search following the hiring freeze, which will end at the conclusion of the 2021 season.

Buczek, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, played at Cornell, where he was a three-time First-Team All-Ivy selection and All-American selection (2013,2014,2015). He was also the Ivy League Player of The Year in 2014.

In 2015 Buczek joined his alma mater as a volunteer assistant. He was elevated to a full-time assistant in 2017 and tasked with tuning the Big Red’s offense, which has been a top-5 scoring offense over the past few seasons.

Buczek also plays professionally in the PLL for Atlas LC.
