The Wagner Seahawks are the 16th DI program and first in the NEC to release their 2022 men’s lacrosse schedule. The Seahawks are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 1-9 (1-7 NEC) against a conference-heavy schedule. They missed the NEC Conference Tournament.

Key Games

3/5 vs NJIT: After not playing each of the past two seasons, Wagner and NJIT pickup their series once again in 2022. Wagner holds a 5-0 series lead all-time against the Highlanders and beat them, 14-11, last time out in 2019. The past two contests between these two have seen the Seahawks win by an average of 2.5 goals.

4/2 vs Sacred Heart: The Seahawks’ lone win last season came in against the Sacred Heart Pioneers in comeback fashion, marking Wagner’s first NEC win since 2017. After trailing 7-3 at the half, the Seahawks put together a 8-2 run in the second half to push themselves over the top, 11-9. If Wagner wants to keep pushing forward in 2022, a win over Sacred Heart for the second year in a row would certainly help.

4/9 @ Hobart: Wagner is 0-7 all-time against Hobart. However, three of those contests were decided by one goal. That includes an 8-9 overtime win by the Statesmen against the Seahawks last season in which Wagner’s Stephen Dwyer tied things up early in the fourth to force overtime. A win over one of the NEC’s best would be monumental for Wagner.
