Key Games
2/19 vs Marist: The Spiders and Red Foxes have met twice before, last doing so in 2020. That contest yielded a 13-11 victory for Richmond in a game in which things were tied up at 8 to start the fourth quarter before a game-ending 5-3 run by the Spiders. With both expected to be top teams in their respective conferences, expect another exciting one between these two.
2/26 @ Towson: Richmond and Towson met for the first time ever last season. Richmond won the contest 11-10 in comeback fashion after trailing 9-5 late in the third quarter. This should be another matchup between two highly-regarded, and possibly ranked, mid-majors with NCAA Tournament potential.
4/2 vs Virginia: In seven meetings the Richmond Spiders have never beaten in-state foe and national power Virginia. However, there have been close meetings between these two with Virginia skimming by, 14-13, in the first-ever meeting between these two in 2014 and 8-7 in their 2017 contest. With Virginia coming off two consecutive national titles, a win here would be huge for the Spiders.
4/23 @ High Point: The most highly-anticipated game of the SoCon season will come during the second to last weekend of the regular season when Richmond travels to High Point for a rematch of the last two SoCon title games. Richmond won the regular season meeting between these two last season, 17-10, in a game that felt over early on. However, the Panthers got revenge and denied the Spiders their coveted SoCon three-peat, winning 11-8 in the conference title game. This one should be exciting and is one to circle for sure.
