The 2024 college lacrosse season is in the books and thus it is time to start taking a look back at the season that was.

Getting things started off with the freshmen, here is a look at who shined in that class at the attack position.

Owen Duffy, A, North Carolina

Duffy stepped onto campus in Chapel Hill last fall as the top-ranked recruit in the nation. He has indeed lived up to the hype thus far as he helped lead the Tar Heels offense last spring and was one of the most impactful freshmen on his team anywhere in college lacrosse. Duffy led North Carolina with 54 points off 33 goals and 22 assists. He was named the ACC Freshman of The Year.

McCabe Million, A, Virginia

Million’s arrival at Virginia came with high expectations. Through his first year on campus, the attackman has proved his worth. Million netted 41 goals and dished out 25 assists for 66 points as a leader for the Cavaliers’ offense. That included a 10-point (6G/4A) performance through three NCAA Tournament games.

Nate Kabiri, A, Princeton

Maybe the most impactful piece of the Tigers’ heralded freshman class, Kabiri came out of the gates firing with 13 points in Princeton’s first three games. The McLean, Va., native didn’t slow down as he ended the year with 53 points off 32 goals and 21 assists as the Tigers’ second-leading scorer.

Ryan Doherty, A, UAlbany

The America East Rookie of The Year was netted 37 goals and dished out 13 assists for 50 points on the season. He was especially productive down the stretch with 13 points coming in May. That included a seven-point (5G/2A) outing vs Merrimack in the conference tournament and a hat trick vs Notre Dame in the NCAAs

Turner Ashby, A, Air Force

Named the ASUN Freshman of The Year, Ashby was tremendous for the Falcons during his first season in Colorado Springs. The Sunshine State native netted 29 goals and dished out 14 assists for 43 points. He was Air Force’s second-leading scorer.

Willem Firth, A, Cornell

Firth started at attack early in the year due to injury and shined. He had back-to-back four-goal games in his first and second collegiate outings (vs Lehigh, vs Denver). Coming out of the box later in the year, he finished the season with 34 points off 22 goals and 12 assists.
