LIU is expected to hire Jordan Levine as its next head men’s lacrosse coach, sources tell Lacrosse Bucket.
Levine takes over for Eric Wolf, who led the Sharks through their transition to DI and left the program earlier this week to take over at NJIT.
Update (6/27/2022): LIU officially announced the hiring of Jordan Levine on Monday morning.
This past spring, Levine led Mercy to its best season in program history as the Mavericks went 16-2 and earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Their season came to an end with the program making its first ever national championship game appearance, where they fell to Tampa 11-7.
At LIU, Levine takes over a program that just ended its third season as a DI program. The Sharks have made consecutive NEC tournament appearances during their two full seasons as a DI program (2021,2022). This past spring, LIU fell to eventual NEC champion Saint Joseph’s, 11-10, in the conference semifinals. They fell 19-11 to the Hawks in the 2021 NEC semifinals.
LIU will be moving to the MAAC next season.
