2023’s Top Freshmen at Midseason

The college lacrosse season began 46 days ago as as teams took to the field for real for the first time back on February 4th. Now, believe it or not, only 46 days remain until selection Sunday, so that means we are just about at the midpoint of the season.

Midweek Recap: Syracuse Beats Hofstra in Road Win

The Syracuse Orange hit the road for the first time in the month of March, heading for Long Island where they took down the Hofstra Pride 16-8 on Tuesday night. The win marked Syracuse’s first road victory of the season and first win away from the Dome since March of last season, which also came on Long Island against Stony Brook.

Midweek Recap: Kirst Leads Cornell Past Hobart, Loyola Tops Towson in OT

In what was the 140th meeting between the two rivals, the Cornell Big Red defeated the Hobart Statesmen 17-8 to move to 3-0 on the season.

Friday Recap: Defense Steers Richmond Past Towson

Six times Richmond found themselves in a man-down situation on Friday night. All six of those instances ended with the Spiders being able to kill the penalty, keeping Towson off the board in such situations. That man-down success from the Spiders is just one piece of what was an incredible defensive performance in their 10-7 home victory over the visiting Towson Tigers.

Week Two Notebook: Loyola and Army Grab Statements Wins

Friday Recap: O’Neill’s Heroics Lift Duke Past Denver in OT

With 19 seconds left in regulation, Brennan O’Neill drove from X, got his hands free on a question mark dodge, and found the back of the net to knot things all up at 13 and force overtime. O’Neill would come up clutch once more on Friday night, putting in a feed from Andrew McAdorey on a man-up situation with 3:38 remaining in the overtime period to secure the victory for the Blue Devils.

Friday Recap: VMI Tops Queens in Double OT, Syracuse and UNC Earn Blowout Wins

For the first time since 2019, the VMI Keydets are 2-0. That second win, however, was a hard-fought one as the Keydets needed two overtimes to get past DI newcomer Queens, 10-9, on the road on Friday night.
