Marist LSM JT Roselle will be joining North Carolina as a grad transfer in 2023.

A four-year impact player with the Red Foxes, Roselle started at close as a freshman and sophomore before moving exclusively to the LSM position. He ended his career with a total of 60 caused turnovers and 136 ground balls. He also found the back of the net eight times during his career and dished out five assists.

This pasts spring, Roselle caused a team-high 30 turnovers while also grabbing 47 ground balls and tallying nine points off six goals and three assists. He was named the 2022 MAAC LSM of The Year and named a first-team All-MAAC selection.

Roselle leaves Poughkeepsie atop the record books as the Red Foxes’ leader in single-season and career caused turnovers.

In Chapel Hill, Roselle joins a North Carolina team that featured a defense last season that was on the younger side and saw plenty of lineup changes due to injury. Senior Matt Wright, sophomore Paul Barton, and junior Blake Gable are two of the Tar Heels’ top returning poles. Sophomore Tyler Schwarz, Junior Maxwell Cooney, and Collin Loughead also return after seeing action last season.

North Carolina allowed 12.8 goals per game last season.

Roselle could very well step into the fray at the LSM spot, or at close, for the Tar Heels in 2023 and be an impact player at the position.
