Key Games
3/11 vs Princeton: Rutgers’ likely biggest non-conference test comes against in-state arch-rival Princeton, who the Scarlet Knights welcome in for the annual battle for the Meistrell Cup. Playing for the first time since 2020 last year, Princeton knocked off the Scarlet Knights 16-11. Princeton has won three of the last five and holds a 65–31–3 all-time series lead. As always, expect this one to be a battle.
3/26 @ Ohio State: Rutgers opens Big Ten play on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes in a game that could be very crucial in the Big Ten with both having high hopes this spring. The Scarlet Knights beat the Buckeyes twice last season, winning 18-7 in the regular season and 12-10 in the Big Ten semifinals.
4/16 vs Maryland: Of Rutgers’ four losses last season, two came against the eventual undefeated national champion Maryland Terrapins. They fell 17-9 in the regular season and then 17-7 in the Big Ten title game. Rutgers will, once again, be looking to beat Maryland for the first time as Big Ten foes and for the first time since 1980.
