As first reported by Ty Xanders of Inside Lacrosse, Duke has picked up a commitment from St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) junior midfielder Andrew McAdorey.
Ranked as the number one player in his class by Inside Lacrosse, McAdorey is the third St. Anthony’s player to commit to Duke. He joins senior teammates Brennan O’Neill, Jake Naso, and Aidan Danenza as Duke commits. All four Duke commits from St. Anthony’s are ranked in the top 50 of their respective classes by Inside Lacrosse.
This past spring, McAdorey helped lead the Friars to a 15-1 record and a CHSAA 3-A championship, defeating Chaminade 14-13 in the championship game.
Last season, McAdorey especially impressed at the GEICO High School Showcase where he helped St. Anthony’s defeat Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.) and Darien (Conn.). The games were broadcast by ESPN and hosted on Long Island by St. Anthony’s.
A versatile and speedy player, McAdorey has the ability to beat his matchup and take it to the rack. He also has the ability to rip it from outside and is a fantastic feeder, as well, being able to distribute the ball all over the field. McAdorey is a game changer on many levels and can impact a game from multiple sports on the field.
