Kevin Corrigan and his staff in South Bend continue their impressive December run on Friday, as Taft, Conn., midfielder Ben Spinelli flipped his commitment from Brown to Notre Dame. The Irish now have 14 commits in the 2022 class.

The midfielder is the third overall Ivy flip and second in the 2022 class for Notre Dame this month, following fellow Taft teammates Jeffery (2021) and Thomas Ricciardelli (2022) who flipped their commitments from Penn to Notre Dame in early December. He is also the fourth player to flip from an Ivy to an ACC this fall and third player to either decommit or flip in the class of 2022.

At 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, Spinelli is on the tall and lanky side and could certainly add more weight onto his frame, especially once he gets into a college weight program. On film, the junior midfielder shows to be a solid shooter from mid-range, has some speed that aides him in the dodging game, and makes some smart plays off-ball to get himself good looks on cage. At the moment, Spinelli appears to have more upside than anything and it will be fun to see how he develops over the next few seasons of high school ball.

The junior midfielder is currently rated as a four-star by Inside Lacrosse and an NLF class of 2022 rankings honorable mention.

This spring, Spinelli will be apart of an uber talented Rhinos squad, which features over 15 DI commits, and looks to compete for a Founders League title.
