2023 Schedule Breakdown: Brown Bears

The Brown Bears are the 62nd DI program in the 2023 schedule breakdown series. The Bears are coming off a 2022 campaign in which they went 10–6 overall and 4-2 in Ivy League play. Brown saw its season end in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a loss to Virginia at home.

Recruiting Notebook: Winners From The First Month of The Contact Period

It has been one month since September 1st, which marked the opening of the contact period between 2024’s and college coaches (outside of the service academies who could start contacting players on July 1st). And at the time of writing this, 202 players have made commitments since that Sept. 1 date, according to the Lacrosse Bucket Recruiting Database.

Commitment Analysis: Brown Grabs Explosive Midfielder in Hudson Hausmann

Mike Daly and the Brown Bears made a splash on Tuesday morning as the Ivy League program gained a commitment from Brunswick (Conn.) 2024 midfielder Hudson Hausmann. His commitment brings the Bears’ class this cycle to five total and three on the offensive end.

NCAA First Round: Virginia Pulls Away From Brown, Advances to Quarterfinals For Third Consecutive Season

For the third consecutive time, the Virginia Cavaliers are moving onto the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Cavaliers pulled away from the Brown Bears in a 17-10 victory on the road on Saturday night.

Ranking All Eight First-Round NCAA Tournament Games

The brackets are set and the 2022 Men’s College Lacrosse NCAA Tournament will get underway this weekend with the field of 16. The two play-in games will be had on Wednesday to decide who plays the No. 1 seed Maryland and No. 2 Georgetown in the first round.
